Grilled Beef/Lamb Kebabs

These kebabs are really easy to make. All you need is a stove top skillet or grill.

Ingredients: (Makes approx. 20)

2 lbs ground/minced meat (use either beef or lamb pre-washed from the store if possible).

1 packet Shan Chappali Kebab mix OR 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp curry powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder.

1 inch piece of fresh grated ginger or 1 level tsp of ginger paste.

Cooking oil spray (olive or canola)

How to:

1. Place the pre-washed minced/ground meat in a large bowl and add all spices as indicated above along with the ginger.

2. Mix all ingredients really well and form into balls. Don’t make them too small as they will shrink slightly. Flatten in the palm of your hand. This mixture should make approximately 20 kebabs. Don’t worry about the shape too much. Think of them as patties.

3. Heat up the skillet/grill on a high heat and spray with cooking oil. Once hot enough, place the kebabs onto the grill and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes each side. Turn up the heat and allow to char a little. Turn them over periodically for even cooking and charring.

Recommendations: Enjoy as a side or as a main with just about any type of salad, grilled veggies and/or a rice dish. Alternatively, you could even have it as a burger with fries!
